Welcome to the Friends of East Horndon, All Saints - in the care of the Churches Conservation Trust.
About the Friends of All Saints East Horndon
Chairperson: Astrid Gillespie
Treasurer: Ricci Fothergill
Rector: Rev'd Canon Paul Hamilton M.A, Rector of Ingrave, Area Dean of Brentwood
The Friends of All Saints care for this lovely Tudor church. We are currently trying to raise enough funds to be able to install an electronic doorlock (£4,000), which would enable the church to be opened to visitors during daylight hours every day.
Mission
Our mission is to open the church to people in the local community and further afield by hosting events and raising enough funds to buy an electronic door lock for the church, enabling it to be open every day of the year.
Description
Although redundant since 1970, and having suffered at the hands of thieves and vandals, All Saints is a much loved and much cared for church. In its prominent position, overlooking the A127 by the Halfway House public house, it commands compelling views across the Thames Gateway. In its redundancy years, the church has frequently been used for many musical events, due to its outstanding acoustics.
